been hearing lately that Boise’s fashion is “behind the times.” But whatever your opinion of Boise shopping, the truth is we’re catching up, and developing our own unique style! We have some rad boutiques, great shops, fashion bloggers (ahem!), and beauty & art communities that help push this city’s Style boundaries.

My definition: Boise Style is put-together, but not overdone. We err on the side of casual, because you never know when you might want to suddenly hike a hill, jump in the river, or go to an art show! We like to feel ready for anything. 🙂

I was in Washington briefly this week, and decided to stop by Nordstrom for a little fashion inspiration! Beth, one of the personal shoppers at Bellevue Square, gave me a tour and a short list of what’s hot this summer in Seattle.

• Maxi skirts & dresses still strong, especially with cut-outs, or in graphic patterns
• Crosses are everywhere; clothing and jewelry!
• Biker Chic – black leahter, white leather, and leaher-esq tops, dresses, and vests
• Black & White (mix with gold to modernize!)
• “Track Pants” in pajama-like satin/rayon, worn with pumps or lace-up boots
• Illusion Dresses
• Some studded details, but the stud trend is fading for fall
• Stock up on purple red, black, and navy for transitioning to Fall 2013!
