Thursday, Oct. 17th, I was honored to receive an invite to the Pre-Grand-Opening party at the
Village at Meridian,
Treasure Valley’s first outdoor “lifestyle” mall. I texted Ammophotog, my awesome photographer friend and go-to partner in crime, when it comes to fashion happenings in this town. “Want to party with me & take pics at the new mall? There’s free sushi!” And bam, we were on our way.

The new Village at Meridian really is like a miniature town; there’s a center square, with restaurants all around and a playground, and a beautiful pond that shoots up choreographed fountain shows on the hour. The Village is an outdoor family gathering place, and it’s quite stunning! We were impressed by the lovely architecture, sprawling “streets,” wide open spaces, and gorgeous movie theatre (with a bar and eatery inside!).

I’ve heard people worry about the impact of another mall and the competition it brings to surrounding businesses. But I’m from the Seattle area, where over a dozen malls exist within a 100 mile radius! I’m not too worried about it; every mall is different, with different stores and clientele. Another mall just means that Boise is G R O W I N G, and that’s a good thing!

Currently, the Village boats six fantastic eateries: Chipotle, Noodles & Co., Which Wich Superior Sandwiches, Yard House, Chic-Fil-A, and my current favorite Kona Grill, where we experienced delicious sushi, amazing cocktails, and super-friendly staff! The mall’s shopping directory is growing; currently they have Soma, White House | Black Market, Go Lite, LOFT, and a few more open and ready to shop. Coming soon, they’ll welcome Francesca’s, Republic of Couture, and one of my personal favorite accessory meccas, Charming Charlie’s! (Don’t know what that is? Here’s my video review of one I shopped at in Arizona!)

The Village at Meridian is a beautiful place, and I believe families will love it! And probably photographers, too; it’s simply stunning at night! Check out these beautiful photos from my talented friend & fashion cohort, Ammophotog. And join me, Nov. 14th at the new LOFT, for a huge shopping party, with a DJ, food, drinks, sales, special deals, with yours truly as the evening’s hostess! (More details coming SOON!)

Have a fabulous weekend, my lovely friends!

XOXO,
Tanya

  1. I still recall when West Park Plaza had 38 shops and an extra trip to Kmart and Bimart finished everything. This isn’t any improvement.
