Who wears a $10 dress on television? This girl. Especially when that $10 dress looks like it cost so much more! Can you believe it? I scored this lovely little lacy number at Forever 21, when I was looking for something to wear on my Fashion Makeover segment for KTVB Ch. 7 News. (More on that HERE, with Before & After video and pictures!) So what makes a $10 dress work?
- A Great Fit
- A Classic Blazer or Jacket
- Amazing Shoes
Fortunately, I found the blazer & shoes at Nordstrom Rack, my go-to place for designer-for-less treasure-hunting. Add some classy pearls an a passion for fashion, and this girl was ready to rock the news studio!
What’s your favorite dress-for-less fashion tip or treasure? I’d love to hear your style hunting success stories!
XOXO,Tanya
Special Thanks to Milestones Portraits, for the lovely pictures!

But you mention a ten dollar dress while skipping over the cost of the rest of the outfit…
You could just as easily use more secondhand clothes and shoes and report of how to care for and repair/restyle/reuse them as elements of other fashion items.
You see, I repair old stereo gear, bikes etc because I like old gear but with clothes I’m sure I’m not alone in sayingI have to wear the same pair of shoes everyday and go through the same sets of clothing items until they are worn out or thank goodness I lost weight at least. People outside of Ada-Canyon area might be lucky enough to lawaway and with only one child and the luck of having this contractual life with all of those stores you have a lot of leeway at this.

Hi, there, Foreignoregonian! Thank you for taking the time to comment on my article!
The rest of the outfit I got at Nordstrom Rack, which sells seriously discounted clothing & accessories. The shoes I’ve had for ages; they’ve held up really well, and I wear the heck out of them!
And for the record, you’re right; I’m not that tall! Not that I’ve ever claimed to be… I’m 5’6″. The young lady in the photos with me is very petite, so she made me look much taller by comparison, lol!

I got all my Christmas clothes for my nieces and nephews at Youth Ranch. It’s just not happening, me and the nice Nordstrom family but they’re groovy.
