How to Wear Sequins for Daytime

I recently was thumbing through a copy of Lucky magazine, and came across an article on how metallics and sequins are trending for Spring & Summer 2014. I happened to have a sequined skirt in my closet from Forever 21, and I thought it would be fun to try styling it for “day wear,” as the article suggested!

The key to this trend is balance; the skirt is so dressy, I toned down its fanciness by pairing it with a sheer & feminine “Portofino” blouse from Express – one of my staple pieces – and comfortable-yet-colorful vintage Nine West boots I found at Renewed Expressions Consignment Boutique for only $12.

Around town, I got a lot of compliments on this outfit, and felt chic and admittedly a little adventurous! What do you think – would you wear sequins for day? How would you style it?
