team up for Tour de Fashion!

Boise’s downtown core is constantly changing and expanding! Did you know we have over 20 locally-owned boutiques, gift shops, and clothing stores within walking distance of each other? If you love fashion, fitness, and exploration, come join us this Spring and Summer for four very special Tour de Fashion events!

Local fashion blogger Tanya Carnahan (StyleSpyGirl.com), the Downtown Boise Association, and Boise GreenBike are joining forces to present a BIKE TOUR that’s totally new to Idaho. Make new friends, discover new shops and trends, and expand your knowledge of our amazing downtown core!

Each Tour de Fashion bike event in Downtown Boise will target 5-6 rad local businesses that are new to town, or might be new to you! A schedule will be posted of each stop; we will bike, shop, explore, and end with an optional Sips & Bites experience you won’t soon forget. Bring your girlfriends, and add your bike basket to fill with fun & unique fashion purchases along the way. Must be 21 and over to attend these tours.

Time: 1:45pm Saturday, April 8th / May 6th / June 3rd / July 8th, 2017
Location: Meet at Boise’s iconic Post Office, downtown on Bannock & 8th.
Cost: $25 if you have your own bike, $35 if you plan to utilize a BoiseGreen Bike.

This one is my favorite spot to bring out-of-town guests and family visiting for the holidays! After shopping, step next door to the incredible new Chateau des Fleurs, the Treasure Valley’s newest event center, only French chateau/castle, and home to the exquisite Le Coq d’Or gourmet French restaurant! Friday, April 10th, I had the honor of attending a fun Spring Celebration party at the Robert Comstock Boise Mens’ Store in the Village at Meridian. The event was catered by Kona Grill, so the food was of course a-MA-zing!!! Sushi, chicken, desserts, and more – they really went all-out, and every bite was exquisite! Local TV & music star Amos Watene aka., Mossi, entertained us with his neo-soulful blend of blues- rock, reggae, and folk music. If you haven’t heard of Mossi, you should check him out; he has been showcased in several of the nation’s premiere music venues, and has made national television appearances both musically and as an actor. In fact, Mossi is featured as one of Nick Jr’s most well known characters, “Brobee,” from the kids show Yo Gabba Gabba! Check out his website for video & audio clips here.

If you haven’t had the opportunity to shop in this cool new clothing store yet, you really need to go! Robert Comstock designs luxurious, high-quality fashions for men, that sell at Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, and other high-end department stores across the nation. Once a season passes for each line, Mr. Comstock sends the overstock from those stores here to Boise, to his Menswear store in the Village at Meridian, where he slashes the prices down 70-90% off! This store is a great resource for men looking to buy high-quality clothing – both professional and casual – at a major discount!!! There are some fantastic deals to be had in this store, and being in the Village makes it the perfect place to shop on the weekends, while you’re there seeing a movie or out on a dinner date.

My goal for today’s outfit was to challenge myself not to match TOO much, by mixing stripes and animal print. I know, so crazy right? So extreme? Lol! This always-coordinated fashionista was starting to fall back into “easy” patterns of dressing myself. Mixed prints: trying it, my way!

Alas, having favorite colors sabotaged my efforts; I went for a bike ride and realized how much I match my Electra Cruiser! Ha ha ha, Guess I need to challenge myself a little more…

Don’t be afraid to break the Fashion Rules a little, even if it takes baby steps. Or in my case, a brisk bike ride!
